Letters from Iwo Jima

Letters from Iwo Jima is one of the best war movies that i have watched so far, because i feel that war movies should not be about all the killings or gore, but rather a portrayal of humans, and the movie is a excellent depiction of the theme.

I have watched Flag of our Fathers a few months back, and i must say that Letters from Iwo Jima is a refreshing change. Not only because it is a change in the perception, but also the movie did not focus mainly on the violence and death, but express deeply on how each character feels not through words but through acting and in the atmosphere. The feeling of digging your own grave, and the feel of just wanting to go home safely. This version of the battle of Iwo Jima is so many times better than Flag of our Fathers and is definitely a must watch, because movie is not just about story plot and pretty cast, but people who can act, and act not just by saying a few lines, but rather express the true feeling even without saying anything....
