Vesak Day

I am not a faithful buddhist and i only go to the temple when my parents bring me there to pray, but i am still a buddhist at large. However, i went to a christian primary school, so i am some what affected by christianity in my religious beliefs. But i guess i mix and believe what i feel is good in both religions, that basically being good might bring you good karma and not just because you go temple or church you can just do bad stuffs and hope that you can go heaven.

I just know today that Vesak Day is declared by the United Nation as a world peace day and well of course i know it is to celebrate the birth, enlightenment and death of Buddha. So on this noble day, i just wish and hope that everyday can be a world peace day and people from different religions, cultures and races will be able to live in harmony with each other. Differences are only what we perceive them to be, and in all we are still of the spieces Homo Sapiens. Despite of the diversity in us, we should take it as a form of variety to make life interesting instead of viewing it as deviance.

Everyone has their own understanding and views of life, and i guess it is the same with religion. People turn to faith in times of needs and to get a sense of security that some beings of higher levels are there to protect us. So when is the last time you pray to some faith you believe in?
