So i was thinking of blogging with all the photos i had from the PALME exhibition which i helped at during mid July, but as my phone keep having problem connecting to my labtop, i cannot upload the photos so i decided to blog about the drama that I am watching these days, Queer as Folk.

Disclaimer: If you are very troubled by the notion of homosexuality, I do advise you not to continue and wait till I post another family friendly post, which I guess occur once every pink moon.

Queer as Folk is basically a US remake of the UK drama by the same name, though the US version have a total of 5 seasons, which made it more than the UK one. The story focus on the lives of a few gay men and lesbian women, though throughout the show, the percentage of gay men are higher. If you have watched Brokeback Mountain and find the gay scenes rather explicit, try Queer as Folk and you will find Brokeback style scenes (which is the gay sex scene not the mountain scenes) occurring at least a couple of time in 1 episode, sometimes coupled in with some lesbian actions.

So far i have watched 3 seasons of Queer as Folk, with 2 more coming soon. Each season focus on different theme, with season 1 on the relationship between the main cast and the coming out of 1 of the main character, while season 2 seem to focus more on the relationship between the 2 leads, Brian and Justin, towards the end. Season 3 is more political though, with the gay community trying to stand up to a politician trying to run for Mayor of the town, and trying to "wipe" out the homosexual community.

There are definitely many charm to the characters of this show. Each characters possess a unique range of personality, which proved to be rather interesting and dramatic. However, though it is for entertainment value, I find it rather unacceptable like another other drama, that the drama tend to focus a lot on the theme of the drama, that is everyone in the show are either gay or lesbian, while those straights are either portray to be biased and out to outcast the homosexual community, which exception of the mother of the gays. Not to mention that they are always look for sex, screwing at every corner and partying all day long and feels like they party more than they work.

Serious theme are discussed every now and then in the show, portraying not only the biased view of the straight, or maybe the whole itself is a portrayal of gays in the eye of a straight. Though I do find the sex scenes are rather too much, almost to the extent that you might think you are watching some porn drama.

Still some extra pros to the show, lots of partying songs to dance to, and every time one of the main casts met a mishap, the other friends somehow always know it firsthand. Strangely, the character i actually like the most is the motherly character inside, which show concern and help everyone inside the show. Truly redefine the meaning of a sunny character.
